New Balance Pairs the 550 Silhouette With the "UNC" Colorway
The made-for-basketball shoe provides the perfect canvas for collegiate hues.

Following the debut of the New Balance 550 to release in a trio of team-inspired hues, the silhouette will take on a classic pastel blue and white color blocking scheme resembling the favorable “UNC” colorway. The offering features a simple low-top but in-vogue construction that was produced as a nod to pro basketball players in the 90s as it saw its first release in 1989 and in turn creates the perfect canvas for collegiate colorways.
Pairing a predominantly white base of premium smooth and perforated leather uppers, pastel blue accents decorate the tongue branding, ankle collar, heel underlays and outsole. The main “N” logo found on the quarters prefers a stark white filling outlined with the soft blue hue while the model number goes for an animated outline. Stark black details the heel midsole and the center outsole to create a subtle contrast.
Look out for the pastel blue and white New Balance 550 to release for $110 USD in the coming weeks at select retailers and New Balance’s official website.
