Beats has presented its latest collaboration, linking up with Bronx-based collective Ghetto Gastro for a new take on the Studio3 Wireless.

For this collaboration, Ghetto Gastro has redesigned the over-hear headphones with a black and bone color palette, complemented by a black-on-black Ghetto Gastro logo. The headphones come with a carry case sporting the collective’s original logo, while two sticker decals and a poster represent Ghetto Gastro’s resistance against oppression.

The collaboration will also continue Ghetto Gastro’s mission of starting discussions surrounding inclusion, race and economic empowerment through food. Beats and Ghetto Gastro are spotlighting and donating to two non-profit organizations that share the collective’s focus.

The two organizations are Sweet Freedom Farm — a BIPOC and abolitionist-led farm that grows and distributes vegetables and other goods to communities with limited access to fresh produce — and Herban Cura, which describes itself as part of a “shift away from systems of oppression and towards the cultivation of communities grounded in healing and regeneration by providing inclusive spaces of healing, learning and collaboration.”

Launching the collaboration, Ghetto Gastro co-founder Jon Gray said, “We’ve been rocking with The Beats by Dre family for a long time so this project feels like a family meal. We’ve created vibes together in Paris and Hong Kong so it’s only right that we brought it home for this.”

The Ghetto Gastro x Beats Studio3 Wireless is due to release on August 27 via the Ghetto Gastro web store and select stockists.
