Bowers & Wilkins has returned to its 800 Series Diamond loudspeakers, updating the model favored by the music industry for a fourth generation. The speakers are used by musicians and recording studios — including London’s Abbey Road Studios — across the world, and the new design includes a range of new technical advancements.

The 800 Series was first introduced more than 40 years ago, although the fourth generation loudspeakers feature some all-new elements. One stand-out is the Biomimetic Suspension system, developed by Bowers & Wilkins to reduce unwanted noise and create a more transparent and natural sound. Additionally, the cabinet design now includes more aluminum sections, while the Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing has been revised with an elongated tube-loading system to produce a more open sound.

The new range features seven models — ranging from £4,750 GBP (approximately $6250 USD) for the HTM82 D4 center channel to £30,000 GBP (approximately $41,000 USD) for the 801 D4 — in a range of finishes. Alongside “Gloss Black,” “White” and “Satin Rosenut,” Bowers & Wilkins has also introduced a “Satin Walnut” finish for the first time.

The 800 Series Diamond Fourth Generation will be available from select dealers from August 1. Visit the Bowers & Wilkins site for more information on the products and their release.
