DTLR's New Balance 992 "Varsity" is Ready For Labor Day Weekend
The collegiate makeup arrives right in the thick of back-to-school season.
Back-to-school season has officially settled in, and so to celebrate, DTLR has reconnected with New Balance to manufacture a “Varsity” colorway of the classic 992 that will be releasing to the public come Labor Day Weekend. This forthcoming iteration serves as a smooth follow-up to the DC-inspired New Balance 992 collaboration that these two parties released back in May of this year.
While most of its upper half is engineered with breathable mesh underlays and grey suede overlays, it’s the varsity jacket-esque accents here that do all of the talking. Sporty blue suede panels are found on top of the toe boxes, near the eyelets and on the heels, while a bold hit of red sees its way to the collars and on the heel’s USA text. Pops of yellow are shown on the tongue’s New Balance branding and the rear, the former of which is also accompanied by an American flag. Semi-chunky midsoles are mostly executed with white walls and arrive stacked on top of blue treading.
Interested in copping? The DTLR x New Balance 992 “Varsity” is scheduled to release on September 3. Retail is set for $185 USD.
Elsewhere in the realm of footwear, the New Balance 991 has been revealed in a clean “Blue/Grey” palette.
