PUMA Celebrates the 10th Anniversary of Nipsey Hussle's 'The Marathon Continues' with Special RS-X3

It’s hard to believe that Nipsey Hussle‘s The Marathon Continues is a decade old, but 2021 indeed marks the classic mixtape’s 10th anniversary. To celebrate a decade of The Marathon Continues and continue to honor the late rapper and community activist’s legacy, PUMA has readied a special take on the RS-X3 that pays homage to both the mixtape and the man behind it.

A lifestyle silhouette with running-inspired flair, the RS-X3’s upper offers a layered look and a medley of materials. Here, the toebox and mudguard are dipped in bright red suede for a stark contrast to the rest of the upper — which uses black leather, suede, neoprene and more. “The Marathon” is printed on the shoe’s tongue directly above a shot clock-style #10 graphic, while the tongue’s inside states “God Got Us,” one of Hussle’s favorite sayings. An “IHUSSLE” fabric tag is also stitched to the Formstrip on the lateral quarter.

Moving to the heel, there’s a co-branded graphic that combines both PUMA’s cat logo and the flag of Hussle’s The Marathon Clothing. Insoles supply a black and white graphic print that shows photos of Nipsey, and laces are printed with a “7 Days a Week” hit toward their tips for a nod to his endlessly hard-working nature. Thick black midsoles with a dash of red towards the heel work with black outsoles to complete the look.

This commemorative Nipsey Hussle x PUMA RS-X3 will release on the PUMA webstore come September 17. Its MSRP is set at $110 USD.
