New Balance Douses Its 991 In Crisp Shades of “Blue/Grey”
In a year that marks the silhouette’s 20th anniversary.
Fresh off the back of its patriotic 991, New Balance returns to its famed Made in England silhouette to dress it in an all-over “Blue/Grey” colorway.
The silhouette — which marked its 20th anniversary earlier this year with a signature grey release — was initially released as running sneaker back in 2001 thanks to its array of then-leading technologies, most notably its ABZORB cushioning.
Over two decades on and the silhouette remains near-on untouched. The upper, doused with “Blue/Grey” panels of nubuck and mesh, alongside pops of reflective detailing is decorated with embroidered branding on the heel and tongue, and sits atop a rugged grey outsole.
Finished with the archetypal “N” logo on its sidewall, the 991 comes equipped with a selection of laces which offers the choice to customise.
New Balance’s “Blue/Grey” 991 is available to buy now from Aphrodite for £179 (approximately $245 USD).
Elsewhere in the world of footwear, Dr. Martens and Suicoke have unveiled their all-new DM MURA silhouette.
