DTLR Pays Homage to DC With This New Balance 992 "Discover and Celebrate" Collaboration

The relationship between DTLR and New Balance is certainly a strong one as the two companies have often worked together on special footwear products. Just before May 2021 concludes, both parties are reuniting once more to release this exclusive New Balance 992 “Discover and Celebrate” collaboration that pays homage to Washington D.C.
The presentation of this lifestyle-centric installment leans heavily on both grayscale tones and sprinkles of vibrant accents for styling. Mesh underlays, synthetic forefoot and heel overlays and the suede mudguards are submerged in a gray, and arrive neighbored by black contrasts along the mid-foot’s suede overlays, tongues and shoe laces. The “N” logos on the side walls continue this color pattern with stark black filling and gray borders. From there, bursts of orange-red are visible towards the middle of the throat, right below the toe boxes and on the heightened heel overlays. Given that Ben’s Chili Bowl — a DC restaurant staple — and the Washington Nationals baseball team have this shade incorporated into their branding, it’s quite possible that this is what inspired DTLR to utilize it. Midsoles split between white and black color-blocking and feature exposed heel foam dressed in more orange to round off its design.
These will be available starting on May 28 exclusively through DTLR locations and on its web store. Men’s sizes are priced at $200 USD while the grade school sizes will cost you $160 USD.
