CLOT and Dr. Martens' Signature Stylings Collide on New 1461 Collaboration
Centered around a vivid red sole and intricate sockliner detailing.
CLOT has teamed with Dr. Martens for a vivid take on the classic 1461 shoe. As 2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the 1461, it’s been reimagined by a laundry list of collaborative partners over the past few months — Bodega, atmos, Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto and King Nerd, to name a few — so CLOT’s Edison Chen and Kevin Poon have elevated it in the best way they know how: with signature red shades and luxurious silk-inspired prints.
The shoe features a standard crisp black leather upper, but it’s quickly bolstered with red contrast stitching, eyestays and aglets. The most notable piece, however is the vivid red sole. This red shade holds divergent but equally important meanings to CLOT and Dr. Martens. CLOT is seeped in Chinese culture, in which red usually represents youth, luck or fortune. To Dr. Martens, it’s representative of the irrepressible spirit of youth culture. A final touch of detail is supplied by a co-branded red insole that uses CLOT’s signature silk-inspired print.
Look for CLOT and Dr. Martens’ collaborative 1461 shoe to release via JUICE Store, the Dr. Martens webstore and select stockists including Dover Street Market come May 29. Its MSRP is set at $150 USD.
