Pop Smoke and The Weeknd Join Top 10 Albums of Mid-2021

Pop Smoke‘s posthumous album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon and The Weeknd‘s After Hours have been named as two of MRC Data’s midyear top 10 albums.

According to Billboard, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon entered the top 10 at No. 4 with a total of 948,000 equivalent album units sold from January 1 to July 1, while After Hours entered at No. 5 with a total of 832,000 equivalent album units within the same time frame. The Weeknd also made it on other top 10 lists, appearing at Nos. 7 and 8 — “Save Your Tears” and “Blinding Lights” respectively — of the top 10 selling digital songs.

Other big projects that sold well in the first six months of 2021 include Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, Lil Durk’s The Voice, Ariana Grande’s positions, BTS’ “Butter” and “Dynamite” Billie Eilish’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WEO GO? and Kendrick Lamar’s g.o.o.d. kid, m.A.A.d. city.
