With top notes of bergamot oil and solar accord, middle notes comprising lily of the valley, heliotrope and peach, and dry base notes including musk, cedarwood oil, and coconut accord, the combination produces a scent that’s essentially summer bottled. Having taken two years to make, it’s safe to say ERL and CDG Parfums has mastered the blend, evoking the nostalgia of being by the sea in the summer as you’re covered in salty water and sunscreen.
The result is sweet and coconutty, but not invasive or overpowering as touches of cedarwood and musk balance out the summer notes. As a result, “Sunscreen” is a unisex fragrance and is meant to be enjoyed by all.
ERL encourages this with its packaging, which was also designed by Linnetz. A limited-edition version will come packaged in an inflatable capsule that suspends the glass bottle inside the vessel, showcasing the repeat-branded bottle inside. Aside from this, the bottle is also showcased in a laser-cut foam case that also floats on water.
ERL and COMME des GARÇONS Parfums’ “Sunscreen” can be seen in the editorial above and is available to purchase from Dover Street Market London (and its other global stores) as well as COMME des GARÇONS shops and select accounts worldwide.
In other news, the most expensive candle ever has just been released.
