John Cena Shocks WWE Fans With Return Announcement at 'Money in the Bank'
Fans haven’t seen him in over 16 months.
World Wrestling Entertainment fans were treated to some massive news hours ago at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event.
Just as Roman “The Tribal Chief” Reigns was giving his victory speech after defending his Universal Championship title from Edge, John Cena‘s “The Time Is Now” theme erupted as all screens filled with yellow and green U Can’t See Me graphics.
The wrestling world hasn’t seen the 16-time world champion in over 16 months since his loss to Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36. This announcement now sets Cena up to face off against Reigns at this year’s SummerSlam in late August. When the live cameras were off, Cena took to the mic to give his fans a personal message in thanking all the athletes at WWE and how much he missed his fans. He also stated that his return was “not a one night only” but the first night of many.
