Titane, the winner of the esteemed Palme d’Or prize at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, has received an official U.S. release date.

Julia Ducournau’s horror film is set to premiere on October 1 with NEON distributing the movie stateside. Titane stars Agathe Rousselle and Vincent Lindon and “revolves around a woman who has sex with cars after growing up with a metal plate in her head from a car accident.” The cast also includes Garance Marillier, Laïs Salameh, Mara Cisse, Marin Judas, Diong-Kéba Tacu, Myriem Akheddiou, Bertrand Bonello and more.

Ducournau made history as the first female director in 28 years to win the Palme d’Or, and Cannes jury president Spike Lee also caused an unforgettable commotion when he prematurely named the winner during the post-event press conference. The American filmmaker stated that he “messed up, simple as that,” adding, “I’m a big sports fan. I’m like the guy at the end of the game who misses a free throw or a kick. No apologies. The people of ‘Titane’ said ‘forget about it Spike’, that means a lot to me.”

Elsewhere in entertainment, Jordan Peele unveiled the title and poster for his next film with Steven Yeun, Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya.
