In the span of 15 years, Bodega has grown from a small streetwear boutique to a brand with international recognition, putting Boston firmly on the streetwear map. Since its founding, it has established a number of close relationships, releasing its own line of merchandise as well as a number of sneaker and apparel collaborations. One of Bodega’s favorite brands is the subversive California-based clothing company PLEASURES, which is celebrated in this capsule.

“With a style reminiscent of streetwear’s golden years of the 80s and 90s, PLEASURES’ retro designs are rife with irony, biting wit, and a crass, sardonic sense of humor. It was what the world needed and we could relate,” said Bodega in a press release. “Over the years, PLEASURES has joined us for our infamous activation in China, as well some local installations at our LA store. This time they are helping us commemorate our 15 year anniversary by contributing some original designs for a collaborative capsule collection. Using our SS21 collection as a reference point, PLEASURES took our outdoorsy theme and ran with it, adding their signature spin for a ‘forestial vibe’ with some of their trademark humor.”

Apparel items include a set of white and forest green T-shirts and hoodies. A large bonsai tree, 15-year anniversary verbiage, and Bodega’s signature “Hidden in Plain Sight” slogan is printed on the back, with PLEASURES motifs and Bodega’s new “Built to Last” slogan printed on the front. The bonsai tree which requires “patience, ingenuity, and meticulous, concentrated effort” is a metaphor for the continued growth of the Bodega brand that’s “Built to Last.”

Another T-shirt option comes dressed in black, featuring intimate graphics and a list of standard operating procedures for camping courtesy of PLEASURES. Lastly, the collection consists of dual-branded air fresheners, bringing the great outdoors to the front seat in pine, sandalwood, and rose scents.

The collection will release at Bodega’s Boston and Los Angeles locations on July 23, 10 a.m. EDT, on a first come first serve basis.
