BEAMS and Birkenstock Bring Black Suede To the Boston Clog

BEAMS and Birkenstock are continuing their collaborative relationship with a black suede iteration of the famed Boston clog. Following up an April re-release of the two’s black suede Arizona and Zurich sandals for BEAMS’ “Best 100” initiative, this Boston offers an appealing closed-toe option for those who are interested in getting in on BEAMS’ and Birkenstock’s black suede stylings.

Uppers are crafted from smooth black suede, and use a glossy black branded buckle for an adjustable fit. Sockliners are made from microfiber synthetic leather that’s been artfully crafted to look like traditional leather, and are stamped with silver sizing information plus other familiar Birkenstock hits. The upper’s black suede build descends to cover the front half of the midsole and boasts a debossed Birkenstock spellout graphic. Traditional hard rubber outsoles finalize the look.

Though BEAMS and Birkenstock have worked on the Boston before, this marks their first return to it in several months. Apart from the above-mentioned “Best 100” initiative, the two have also crafted both taupe and gray suede takes on the Arizona and Zurich sandals.

The BEAMS x Birkenstock Boston in black suede is available for pre-order now via the BEAMS webstore, and will be delivered in early October. It’s priced at a tax-included ¥24,200 JPY (approximately $220 USD).
