BEAMS and Birkenstock Reunite for Black Suede Iterations of the Arizona and Zurich
Part of BEAMS’ famed “Best 100” project.
As part of its yearly “Best 100” project that spotlights essential collaborative items, BEAMS has teamed up with Birkenstock to reissue monochromatic black suede iterations of the Arizona and Zurich sandals. It’s rare to see all black Birkenstock sandals as most retain a signature cork footbed, so this latest collaboration between famed Japanese retailer and heritage German shoemaker offers up streetwise style for a swath of sandal lovers.
Both the Arizona and Zurich boast an identical outsole and black synthetic leather footbed with sizing information. The straps, however is where they diverge. Though both use a supple suede construction and jet black buckles with debossed Birkenstock branding, the Arizona equips a traditional two-strap look with a visible gap while the Zurich features a more sheath-like top half with no space in between its duo of buckles.
The BEAMS x Birkenstock Arizona and Zurich are both available for pre-order at the BEAMS webstore now, with an expected delivery date of mid May. MSRP for each style is set at ¥20,900 JPY (approximately $193 USD), inclusive of tax.
