After canceling its 2020 event — the first cancellation since 1996 — due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, E3 is returning this June, and it’s coming back even bigger.

Today, the event announced that in addition to its usual presentations and gaming experiences, E3 2021 will also introduce a new gaming awards segment, which will celebrate some of the most anticipated titles from the host of participating developers through a media panel consisting of editors from PC Gamer, IGN, GameSpot, and GamesRadar+. Including the awards ceremony, the entire event will be co-hosted by Greg Miller, Jacki Jung and Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez, and as usual will feature a whole roster of new game reveals, announcements, panel discussions and developer interviews.

“For this year’s event, we are collaborating with editors at some of the world’s leading video game media outlets to create the Official E3 2021 Awards Show, recognizing the show’s most anticipated games,” ESA’s president and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis in a statement. “The broadcast is going to be packed with exciting announcements and reveals, and celebrating innovative publishers and developers is an ideal way to close E3 2021.”

E3 2021 will take place from June 12 to 15, with live broadcasts across the whole period over on the event’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The gaming awards themselves will be featured on the last day of the event.

Elsewhere in gaming, PUBG is adding a limited-time racing mode for Season 12.
