Superplastic Unveils Gorillaz 20th Anniversary Vinyl Toy

Superplastic — the renowned art toy purveyor founded by Kidrobot‘s Paul Budnitz — is celebrating 20 years of the virtual British band Gorillaz with a limited-edition vinyl collectible, dubbed “Geep.”

The new toy resembles Gorillaz guitarist Noodle’s signature green dune buggy with the number “46” written on the side door in white paint and aggressive exhaust pipes sticking out of the trunk. Arriving 10-inches long and four-inches tall, “Geep” is fully equipped with a removable guitar and working LED lights.

“The Geep, our most loyal companion,” said Noodle in a release. “We hope it will bring joy to all the homes it parks up in around the world.”

This latest collectible marks the third collaboration between Superplastic and Gorillaz, who first partnered in 2019 to create updated Gorillaz toys that had not been on the market for over a decade. The full Superplastic x Gorillaz collection, which officially launched earlier this year, initially included only a soft vinyl iteration of the band’s frontman 2D but now enlists the rest of the entourage — Murdoc, Noodle and Russell — in 9 to 12-inch high figurines.

“It’s been my dream to ride shotgun with Noodle in the Geep…on mushrooms,” said Budnitz. “As real as I want that moment to be, we all know that this shit isn’t happening. So, we decided to make a super limited, dope, amazing toy instead. It’s been killer bringing the Gorillaz to life through designer toys over almost two decades, and I can’t wait for fans to get the Geep!”
