Nike's Newest Air Force 1 '07 LV8 Is Inspired by "Himalayan Rhubarb"
Natural dyes and cork embellishments add a touch of vitality.
Nike has unveiled a new iteration of its Air Force 1. Dubbed “Himalayan Rhubarb,” the shoe is inspired by the regional mountain rhubarb that’s often used as a natural dye in garment-making.
Most of the shoe sports clean white uppers, complemented by earth tones and embroidery. Starting at the top of the shoe is a green-colored motif of the plant, with the labeled “Fig 4.” at the upper right corner. At the heel tab is a light beige suede panel marked with “NIKE” branding as well as the colorway’s name. Besides the tan Swoosh, the rest of the uppers are built with white leather. All of these details rest over a crisp white midsole, underscored by a cork outsole.
Nike’s Air Force 1 “Himalayan Rhubarb” will be available on May 31, 9 p.m. EST on Nike China’s website for ¥849 RMB (approximately $130 USD).
