John Boyega To Reprise His Role in 'Attack the Block' Sequel
Announced a decade after the release of the original sci-fi cult classic.

John Boyega has confirmed that he will be reprising his role as Moses in the sequel of the sci-fi cult classic, Attack the Block.
The upcoming film will see Boyega reunite with original director Joe Cornish, who will also be writing and co-producing the sequel alongside the actor via his UperRoom Productions, Nira Park via her Complete Fiction banner and James Wilson. A plot and release date, however, are yet to be revealed.
“It’s been a decade since Attack the Block was released and so much has changed since then,” Boyega said in a statement. “I’m excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favourite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honour.”
Cornish added, “I’m thrilled we’re officially announcing our return to the world of Attack the Block on the tenth anniversary of the film’s release. I can’t wait to work alongside John again, bringing audiences an even bigger slice of inner-city alien action.”
The original Attack the Block was released in 2011 and is considered as the project that launched the career of Boyega, who, of course, went on to become a franchise staple in Star Wars. The film featured a teenage street gang that mobilized themselves as they fended off predatory aliens attempting to take over their neighborhood during Guy Fawkes Night.
Stay tuned for a trailer and release date.
