Lab-Grown Cell-Cultured Chicken Is Coming This Year
Created by placing sample chicken cells in a nutrient-rich environment.

According to reports, California-based food technology company Upside Foods is aiming to debut its cell-cultured chicken in the United States this year.
“Upside Chicken,” is the latest in lab-grown meat innovation which develops edible chicken by placing sample chicken cells in a nutrient-rich environment. The sustainable practice not only addresses the environmental impact of raising chicken purely for consumption but also limits contamination due to the sterile condition the chicken protein is cultivated in. Pending USDA and FDA approval, Upside Foods aims to launch Upside Chicken in restaurants sometime near the end of the year.
