The hard-hitting freestyle could hint at the kind of material fans can expect on his upcoming album The House Is Burning as he raps lines like “Money don’t make no man of me” and “Lost control off the coke, back to broke.”
The TDE artist recently dropped his new single “Lay Wit Ya,” which is set to appear on The House Is Burning — his fist solo full-length release since 2016’s The Sun’s Tirade. He shared in an interview with the FADER that after he finished a tour in 2017, he basically went broke, slept on a friend’s couch for months then completed rehab in 2019. Rashad also called Beats his “rap coach,” adding that he just wants the new album “to sound fun.” He continued, “If I’m sad, people don’t need to be able to tell. And this is probably my most depressing album.”
