Don Toliver Drops Music Video for His New Single "What You Need"
A small taste of the Houston-born rapper’s forthcoming album.
Don Toliver‘s gateway into the spotlight can more or less be credited to his feature on Travis Scott‘s “CAN’T SAY” — track number 13 off of the highly-acclaimed album ASTROWORLD that dropped back in August of 2018. After releasing his debut record Heaven Or Hell in 2020, the Cactus Jack label artist is now starting to give us a taste of his next project through the release of a fresh single entitled “What You Need” along with its accompanying music video.
On the new tune, Toliver delivers his signature melodic emotions and tones from start to finish. As you can probably infer from the song’s moniker, the song is about him essentially offering a love intereste anything that she needs. “Tell me what you really, really need, lil’ baby, take you out and put you in Double C, lil’ babe”, he croons on the chorus. The music video, which was directed by appears to be set somewhere in Colombia, and opens up with a cameo by R&B artist Kali Uchis. From there, the “After Party” artist is the main focus of the clip and finds himself hopping in a bright green limo with suicide doors and coming across trippy-yet-mystical looking clouds of smoke that glow with neon colors in the forest.
No official release dates for his next album have been announced yet but note that it will likely launch this Summer.
Elsewhere in music, Pop Smoke’s manager says that another posthumous album could be on the way.
