Citizen Set to Drop Every Star Wars-Themed Watch You Will Ever Need
Character watches, including Darth Vader and Boba Fett pieces, will drop in September.
Citizen has dropped news of six new Star Wars-themed analogue digital watches, based on some of the original trilogy’s most popular characters.
The Ana-Digi Temp series launched back in March with Rebel Pilot and Trench Run models, with both offering dual time, alarm, digital time, chronograph, calendar and temperature functions. The Rebel Pilot features the Rebel Alliance logo and an X-wing fighter, while the blacked-out Trench Run is illustrated with both X-wing and TIE fighter images as well as targeting computer grid graphics.
These models will be followed in the Fall by new six models, representing Darth Vader, Boba Fett, R2-D2, C3PO, Stormtrooper and BB-8 (a sequel trilogy odd one out). Each watch features the Star Wars logo and an illustration of each character engraved on the caseback.
R2-D2 follows the droid’s white, blue and red color scheme and distinctive patterning, while C-3PO is given a gold coating and its two upper dials are given the same texture as the protocol droid’s eyes. Series villain Darth Vader is represented with all-black color scheme with images of his iconic helmet and the Death Star, while anti-hero Boba Fett’s green and red armor is referenced along with the Mandalorian symbol. Pieces depicting Imperial Stormtroopers and BB-8 are also pictured.
The watches are based on Citizen’s original Ana-Digi Temp watches, which were first released in the 1980s, making for a good fit with the aesthetic of the original Star Wars trilogy. The multi-function model, which features both analogue and digital elements, was revived in recent years as part of a collaboration with Beams.
Rebel Pilot and Trench Run are out now via Citizen, with the six new models in the Citizen Ana-Digi Star Wars Collection dropping in September, with prices starting at $350 USD.
