Timex’s Milan-based design director Giorgio Galli has added a Midnight Blue dial option to the brand’s S1 Automatic while the brand has restocked the original sold-out Silver dialled model.
The S1 was launched in 2019, Galli’s response to the brief to design the most ‘Timex’ Timex ever made. The designer, influenced by his love for photography, created a watch that would play with the light, from its double curved mineral glass to the raised, applied indices and single non-functional watchmaking jewel set in its dial.
Timex creates the 41mm stainless steel S1 case using metal injection moulding, a process which almost certainly lends itself to creating the watch’s scalloped section running along its caseband and lugs.
The S1’s Miyota 9039 4Hz automatic is visible through an exhibition caseback and the watch is supplied on a quick-release rubber strap.
Both the new Midnight Blue model and Silver dial restock drop tomorrow, March 9, exclusively via Timex priced $450 USD.
