Dr. Martens and Suicoke Fuse Classic Sandals for SS21
Mixing the Lorsan with the Japanese label’s BOAK and DEPA silhouettes.
After linking up with NEEDLES last month, heritage footwear label Dr. Martens has now presented a new collaboration with Suicoke. The capsule fuses each brand’s heritage into two silhouettes, combining Dr. Martens’ Lorsan sandal with Suicoke’s much-loved DEPA and BOAK silhouettes.
Continuing the influence from Dr. Martens’ archive, both silhouettes in the pack are constructed from the label’s signature Black Smooth Leather. Other features include debossed branding in the leather, yellow welt stitching and Dr. Marten’s classic heel tab. Additionally, the DEPA features a Suicoke-branded pull tab, while the BOAK is finished with Suicoke branding on the clip buckles.
Announcing the collaboration, Suicoke explained, “Dr. Martens and Suicoke share a mutual understanding and unique approach to design that consistently challenges creative development —- utilizing only the highest quality materials. We don’t design to a specific demographic, but simply to make something special. It shouldn’t be distinguished from us but rather by the consumer. They are the ones with the freedom and right to choose the product if it fits their lifestyle.
The Suicoke x Dr. Martens collaboration is due to release on March 13, and will be available from select stockists and the Dr. Martens web store.
As well as working with Dr. Martens, Suicoke also recently released a KISEE-DSV alongside Descente ALLTERRAIN.
