Salomon Advanced Silhouettes Get Stripped Back for SS21 "Black Edition"
Focusing on the sneakers’ technicality and construction.
After announcing the capsule as part of its wider Spring/Summer 2021 collection at the start of the year, Salomon Advanced has now officially revealed this season’s Black Edition. The line originally launched in 2016, and saw all colors removed to focus on the silhouettes themselves and their rugged functionality.
For SS21, three silhouettes have been given the Black Edition treatment. First up is the Ultra 3, which was designed for long-distance trail running with a springy midsole, breathable fabrics on the upper and a focus on durability. The second silhouette in the pack is the Phantasm, a lightweight and durable road running sneaker.
Rounding out the pack is the most eye-catching silhouette, the S/Lab Cross. As a member of Salomon‘s performance-oriented S/Lab line, the sneaker is one of the label’s most advanced trail running silhouettes, with all-terrain grip through the outsole geometry, and a breathable matrix upper for foot security.
