Salomon Advanced continues to look into its mountain sports archive with its latest release, debuting a Spring/Summer 2021 collection comprising various silhouettes that pay respect to the brand’s roots.

With this in mind, Salomon Advances is reigniting the Black Edition line. First released in 2016, Black Edition sneakers saw the colors removed which drew more attention to the technology and functionality of the shoe, and now SS21 is set to offer pairs including the S/LAB Cross Black LTO, the S/LAB Phantasm Black LTO and the S/LAB Cross Black LT.

Additionally, the XA PRO returns with a more honest and representative makeover that replicates the OG sneakers, presented with asymmetrical colorways, QuickLace functions, and an original “Link” logo. Furthermore, these sneakers pay homage to the running shoes of the early 2000s, presented in bold and luminous colors, while more nods to running can be found with the return of the S/LAB RX MOC — a shoe best worn after sports for the best recovery experience possible.

Now-iconic silhouettes such as the XT-4 Advanced and the XT-6 Advanced appear in new colorways, while the XT-Wings 2 Advanced is presented with new tooling and tech that enables it to be more protective, structured, but lightweight. Hiking styles such as the ODYSSEY Advanced are also set to return, which might be the unsung hero of the entire release thanks to its luxurious suede uppers, energy-packed midsole, and overall retro, chunky design.

Salomon Advanced’s SS21 collection is already filtering into stores as you read this, while more pairs are set to release in the coming weeks and months over on Salomon’s website and at select retailers worldwide. Take a closer look at a selection of the seasonal pairs above.
