Following the debut of its inaugural Volume 1: Sneakers, Siam Discovery’s “Future Lab”, the brainchild of Siam Piwat’s THINKTANK returns once again to champion craftsmanship with Volume 2: Surf Culture, this time teaming up with Rip Curl.

Continuing to support diverse communities, Siam Discovery’s latest co-creation space provides a walkthrough of the ins-and-outs of the surfskate subculture — including a comprehensive exhibition, personalization lab and Bangkok’s first-ever surfskate school.

Starting with the “Find Your First Board” exhibition, visitors are able to browse a wide range of skateboards, wakeboards and snowboards. Detailed descriptions, their historical significance and short films on their identities accompany each of the boards on display to capture a deeper insight into every product.

“Hyperpersonalization Lab” encourages visitors to explore their individuality. Once the right surfwear and beachwear are chosen from the performance garments and accessories stocked, customization services including hand-painting and engraving are available as add-ons, as well as being given space to digitally design your dream skate park.

For the final stop in the co-creation journey, “Future Lab” turns its outdoor Discovery Plaza into the city’s first surfskate school with lessons provided by professional surfskaters.

The “Volume 2: Surf Culture” exhibition will be open from March 17 to May 31 with the surfskate school running from March 17 to May 2. Visit the Siam Discovery Facebook page for more information on the latest “Future Lab.”
