Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson Investigate the Jigsaw Copycat in 'Spiral' Trailer
The upcoming horror film’s soundtrack will be curated by 21 Savage.
Lionsgate has unveiled a new trailer for Spiral: From the Book of Saw starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson.
The two-and-a-half minute visual begins with Detective Zeke Banks (Rock) receiving a package at the station. He and and his young partner (Max Minghella) plug in a USB stick which contains an eerie video asking Banks if he knows where his colleagues are. Clips of his fellows detectives getting tortured quickly flash and Banks becomes surrounded with spiral insignias similar to Jigsaw’s “calling card.” Feeling defeated by the idea that anyone — including his colleagues — could be the Jigsaw copycat, he pays a visit to his father, the former police chief (Jackson). “This is gonna go sideways fast,” Jackson’s character says, as teasers of the terrifying “games” the victims need to play are shown until the end of the trailer.
Also heard in the clip is a new song from 21 Savage who curated the soundtrack for the entire film. Although the rapper shared the trailer and other promotional materials for the movie on social media, he did not confirm if he will be releasing a lead single from the soundtrack.
