Equal parts runner and hiker, New Balance‘s X-Racer is a bold hybrid lifestyle silhouette — one that’s a favorite of Jaden Smith, and even influenced the artist’s signature Vision Racer. Now, the X-Racer is back in two new colorways suitable for all springtime city strolls or country hikes: “Phantom/Ghost Pepper” and “Virtual Sky/Pink.”
“Phantom/Ghost Pepper” is the more toned down makeup of the two, sporting a black and brown base that’s enlivened with navy, yellow and eponymous bright red accents. On the other hand, “Virtual Sky/Pink” supplies a boisterous blend of teal and sport blue, embellished with a signature salmon pink and a bright green. Both boast a similar material construction, using a ripstop mesh upper overlaid by suede and textiles for support plus a tri-tone ABZORB midsole for comfort. Signature details are provided by the unique anchor lacing system and large N midfoot hits, while durable, toothy outsoles complete the look.
The New Balance X-Racer “Phantom/Ghost Pepper” and “Virtual Sky/Pink” are both available now via the New Balance webstore. The MSRP for each is set at $100 USD.
