KANGHYUK's FW21 "COLLECTION 10" Expands Its Material Exploration
Showcasing takes on the Reebok Classic.
For its first showcase of the year, KANGHYUK has now offered a full look at its Fall/Winter 2021 “COLLECTION 10” complete with a tease of its latest Reebok collaboration.
With “Collection 10,” the standout South Korean label expanded its material exploration split into two new categories. Maintaining its focus on upcycled synthetic fashion, KANGHYUK developed a distinct handmade patchwork with parachute details and blue hand-dyeing. Along with marking side curtain airbags found within the headliner of cars with a camouflage print designed in its graphic language.
The FW21 range sees KANGHYUK continue its signature airbag fabric design sensibility with notable outerwear and bottoms accented by proud stitching. While crinkled detailing is accompanied by garments centered around cinching elements and more casual street-leaning wares like T-shirts and wide easy pants. The season also features an intensive investigation of denim in washes of indigo and contemporary outlooks in like with KANGHYUK’s styling.
Additionally, with “COLLECTION 10” KANGHYUK also introduced a new expression of womenswear focused on silhouettes with minimal details to still carry the DNA established with its menswear.
Finally, the South Korean label offered an early look at what’s next in its ongoing partnership with Reebok. This time taking on the Reebok Classic, KANGHYUK put together two exposed stitching takes on the icon and two handmade reworks using its signature airbag textile. Together, the shoes also continue to execute the red and blue color exploration found in the FW21 collection.
