Jaden Smith's MSFTSrep Takes a Youth-Led 'Organized Rebellion' to City Streets

Jaden Smith offered an exclusive preview of his Untitled MSFTSrep Fall/Winter 2021 collection at this year’s edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo: the fashion industry event series held twice yearly in Florence.

The showing focused on three looks — a suit, a hoodie dress and a puffer jacket and snow pant set — and took inspiration from snowboarding and skateboarding subcultures. The relaxed-fit suit and hoodie dress were conceived as items to easily skate in for everyday wear or to dress up for a more formal occasion, while the snow suit is intended to bring MSFTSrep’s skate and punk sensibilities to the sport. “Snowboarders are among the most stylish people I know. I also wanted them to have the same style in dressing that they wear on the snow,” Smith says.

Smith and his co-founders Moises Arias and ¿TÉO? also found inspirations in philosophical theory, photography, and history and science texts. The collection as a whole is meant to stand as “a symbol of organized rebellion within the youth,” as Smith explains in a press statement. This ethos is further elaborated in a video showcasing the garments to the tune of A$AP Ferg‘s “Floor Seats.”
