Haven Introduces Innovative Fabrics and Functional Design for SS21
Focusing on utilitarian aesthetics.
Canadian label Haven has returned with the lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2021 collection, focusing on utilitarian design and technical innovations. Throughout the collection, Haven introduces new functional elements, beginning with the use of Schoeller Dryskin, a technically advanced fabric produced in Switzerland.
Schoeller Dryskin has a number of elements that make it perfect for the collection, including being wind and water repellant and extremely breathable, while its doubleweave construction means it is both lightweight and stretchy. Other materials used in the collection include the weatherproof EtaProof, on trousers, shorts and outerwear, as well as Polartec 100 fleece on transitional mid-layer items. The SS21 collection also features fabrics chosen for their warm weather performance, with COOLMAX textiles best-known for their moisture wicking properties featuring throughout.
The functional approach to fabric selection is mirrored in the color palette and design choices of the collection. Items come in a muted color palette of black, olive and khaki, while military and utilitarian references can be seen across tactical vests, field jackets and cargo pants.
Haven’s SS21 collection can be viewed in the gallery above, and the first installment will release at Haven’s web store as well as its Toronto and Vancouver locations on March 18.
