Rare 1937 PSA 10 Jesse Owens Card Sells for $380K USD on eBay
Commemorating his four gold medals won at the infamous Berlin games.
The world of sports trading cards continues to erupt, but it’s not an NBA rookie card that’s stealing the show this time around. Moving away from the modern era of sports, a vintage Jesse Owens Olympic card has just sold for $380,000 USD on eBay.
This historical card marks the tense 1936 Berlin Games, where the African American athlete took home four gold medals in front of the Nazi regime. Rated PSA 10 Gem Mint, this is the first 1937 Ogden’s Champions Jesse Owens card to receive such a grading. When factoring in that ESPN ranks Owens as the 6th greatest athlete of all time, and that we are on the 85th anniversary of the Berlin Games, it is easy to see why this piece of history sold for such a staggering amount.
