Converse Reimagines the Jack Purcell Rally With Patchwork Uppers
The archival model gets constructed with vivid yarn-dyed jacquard materials.
First released in 1976, the Converse Jack Purcell Rally is a lifestyle-centric sneaker that — much like other Converse silhouettes — has become a casual go-to over the years. Now, the silhouette is returning to the market in the form of two patchwork-style colorways that are inspired by the woven artistry of textiles.
For this in-line duo, Converse keeps the archival shape of the Jack Purcell Rally, but trades out its traditional materials that you’d find on the uppers of the silhouette for something more vivd and unexpected. As opposed to using the customary canvas, the Boston sportswear brand works in yarn-dyed jacquard fabric which by nature, enhances the base layer with a more intricate aesthetic and modernized feel. Both offerings come built with two-toned toe caps and “Sail” white bottom pieces. Moreover, the vintage license plates that are debossed on the lower heels are tonally presented on each installment.
Two colorways are included in this range including a “Deep Lichen Green/Black” and a “Black/Tomato Puree”, both of which possess silver eyelets and stark black insoles with white Converse branding.
