California-based Cold Iron Studios has just unveiled an announcement trailer for its upcoming Aliens: Fireteam game.

Based on the ultra-iconic sci-fi monster franchise, Aliens: Fireteam is a third-person, online-only survival game which pits you, as a team of humans, against oncoming hordes of Xenomorphs. The goal is simple: fight the waves off in whatever way you can. While the game does play similarly to other horde mode shooters, Cold Iron Studios has integrated various RPG-like elements, allowing players to choose from five different classes — gunner, doc, technician, recon and demolisher — and level up distinct skill trees, abilities and perks as you progress through the 12 campaign levels. There’ll also be more than 20 different enemy types, all with individual AI systems, so you’ll have plenty of variations in your encounters.

Aliens: Fireteam is scheduled for release sometime this summer for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, although unfortunately there won’t be cross-play support.

Elsewhere in related news, Alien‘s Ripley and Xenomorph are both arriving on Fortnite as the latest playable characters.
