Stranger Things fans have just received another clue at the direction and tone of Season 4.

In a q with Tom Power interview on CBC, actor Finn Wolfhard aka Mike Wheeler revealed: “Every season it gets darker. Really, I will say like season 3 I was like, this is the darkest season that there’ll ever be, like exploding rats and everything. But really, like, season 4 so far, it is the darkest season there has ever been. Every year it gets amped up. Every year it gets funnier and darker and sadder and everything. Every year they amp it up. So I’m really excited for people to see it, and we’re still filming it.”

With more than a year-and-a-half having gone by since Season 3 ended on Netflix, many fans have been on edge in anticipation for the conclusion of the cliffhanger. The team is currently still filming the fourth season, but this little bit of info pretty much lets fans know that it’ll be worth the wait.
