Netflix Announces 'Dota 2' Inspired Animated Series, 'Dota: Dragon’s Blood'
Created in collaboration with video game developer and publisher, Valve.
Continuing its focus on animated content, Netflix recently released an announcement trailer for its upcoming title, Dota: Dragon’s Blood.
Created in collaboration with video game developer and publisher, Valve, the eight-episode series is based on hugely-popular free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game Dota 2. Animation for the shoe will be handled by Studio MIR, the studio behind The Legend of Korra and Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender.
According to Netflix, “The sweeping fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”
