Porsche Teases the Taycan Cross Turismo
It can fit an entire mountain bike in the trunk.
Porsche has finally released a video teasing its upcoming Taycan Cross Turismo electric wagon.
While its specifications haven’t been released yet, the video offers a better look at what the new wagon will entail. Sharing a similar front end with the standard Taycan models released so far, the design changes as it extends towards the rear, carrying a taller roof with rails running down the laterals and a tail-end reminiscent of hatchbacks. “With the Taycan Cross Turismo, we wanted to offer a little bit more space, a little more flexibility and versatility,” said the Taycan line’s head Stefan Weckbach, pointing out that you’ll be able to fit an entire mountain bike in the trunk space.
As for performance, Porsche hasn’t revealed any specifics, but most are expecting similar numbers with the rest of the Taycan range. A modified suspension system will however give the Cross Turismo greater ground clearance while the automaker will also equip the wagon with an exclusive driving mode that allows the car to better handle dirt roads and harsher terrains.
There’s no concrete release date for the new Taycan Cross Turismo, but Porsche says it’ll begin introducing the electric wagon later this year and hope to start deliveries in 2022. Pricing details have also yet to be released, so those interested should definitely stay tuned for more updates to come.
