Nike Adds a "Wolf Gray" Colorway to the Space Hippie 01 Lineup
The sustainable sneaker is offered up in a crisp, cool spring colorway.
A few weeks following the release of a new “Smoke Grey/Black/Pink Blast” colorway for the Space Hippie 04, Nike has added another new sneaker to its sustainable Space Hippie line. This time, the Space Hippie 01 is in the hot seat, updated here in a “Wolf Gray” color scheme.
The Space Hippie 01 is the most lightweight shoe in the series, and also carries the lowest carbon footprint. The sneaker is comprised of recycled materials which make up more than 50 percent of its weight — from the “Space Waste Yarn” upper, made from recycled plastic bottles and fabric scraps, to an insole crafted from Zoom X foam waste. And it ships in a shoebox made with upcycled and plant-based materials, to boot.
This model features light mint midsole, also bearing the signature multicolored flecks, that continues through the outsole for a cushioning that mimics that of Nike’s Next% running shoes. The 01’s “Space Waste Yarn” upper is a lighter shade than it’s most recent predecessor, and bears a lime green toned swoosh.
The sneaker will be available via the Nike Japan web store on March 10 at 7 p.m. for ¥ 15,400 JPY (approximately $144.53 USD).
