Nike Brews a Highly Caffeinated Daybreak in Crema-Toned "Wheat" Colorway
Drawing inspiration from New York City’s café culture.

Nike continues to brew new sneakers as it draws further inspiration from New York City’s café and coffee culture, this time around dropping its archival Daybreak sneaker in “Wheat.”
All around the sneaker, you’ll find apt nods to the highly caffeinated beverage, with its suede and nylon base looking like the delicious shade of crema. Alongside this, Nike adds contrasting white elements that highlight areas such as the mid-panel Swoosh’s stitching, the branded tongue, and the Nike-stamped leather heel tab.
Additionally, Nike places its “Roasted by Nike, Inc.” stamp on the rear-quarter alongside the “97005” Beaverton zip code that graced previous pairs such as the Air Max 97 and Air Force 1. Rounding out the sneaker’s coffee-themed look is a light cream sole unit that’s true to the OG Daybreak of 1979, offering plenty of grip from its waffle-designed outsole, while insoles printed with a cat sitting in a coffee cup add a very “Kawaii” look to the women’s sneaker.
For now, the Nike Daybreak “Wheat” is sold out on websites such as COVERCHORD. However, expect the sneaker to appear at other stockists worldwide in the coming weeks, retailing for around $115 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of footwear, here are this week’s biggest drops.
