Dover Street Market and Converse Prepare a Duo of Spiffy Jack Purcells
Launching in “Parchment” and “Black”.
Dover Street Market is often tapped by various sportswear brands a year to participate in footwear collaborations, and one of the first to come into fruition in 2021 is this latest collection with Converse. The silhouette of choice here is the ever-classic Jack Purcell which has been reimagined by the luxury retailer in two semi-formal colorways.
The capsule is comprised of “Black” and “Parchment” makeups, both of which are assembled with canvas-lined base layers and traditional rubber toe boxes. The former style is proffered up calls upon a solid black to outfit its upper and midsoles alike. Alongside this, natural white contrasts pop out through the laces and mudguards that somewhat give off a tuxedo type of vibe. Moreover, strips of black stretch across the lateral and medial sides just above the midsole, the former hosting DSM‘s hut logo towards the heel.
Its sibling on the other hand is created with a lighter palette. As its moniker suggests, a majority of its look is dependent on the “Parchment” tone to wrap the heightened regions of its canvas base. As you move south, the side stripes deviate with a shade that is slightly darker, and arrive stacked on top of the black mudguards. From there, the sole units and rubber toe tips are devised with ivory outers. This iteration also places the DSM hut insignia towards the rear.
