HBO has shared the first official trailer for Euphoria season two.

The visual sees Zendaya return as Rue Bennett, who “must find hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss and addiction,” according to an official synopsis. The chaotic preview features several breakdowns, family fights and a suitcase full of drugs that seems to be a part of what Rue is calling her “amazing plan.”

Elsewhere, the trailer sees new developments in the complicated romance between Rue and Jules (Hunter Schafer), as the two reunite at a campfire. “When I first met her, I was just immediately in love,” Rue narrates. “As soon as I saw her, I was just immediately afraid to lose her.”

The second installment of the Sam Levinson-helmed series will also star Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid and Austin Abrams.

Following the first season, which was released in 2019, HBO dropped two specials — Trouble Don’t Last Always, which premiered in December 2020, and F*** Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob, which aired in January of this year. Season two was originally scheduled for production in March 2020 before facing several delays due to the ongoing pandemic.

Euphoria season two premieres on HBO Max on January 9, with new episodes releasing weekly. Watch the first trailer above.

Elsewhere, Marvel head Kevin Fiege has confirmed that a Spider-Man: No Way Home sequel is “actively” in development.
