Jordan Brand Fuses Russell Westbrook's Why Not Zer0.5 Sneaker and Honor the Gift Label
Tying together both the Lakers’ PG’s off-court endeavors.
Jordan Brand is fusing together both Russell Westbrook’s street-fashion label Honor The Gift and his latest signature Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 shoe. The Los Angeles Lakers point guard last revealed a sneaker collaboration with FACETASM and is now unveiling his most recent design with ties to his own venture. Launched in 2016, the LA-based brand is a representation of Westbrook’s evident love for fashion bound together with his hometown roots as it continues to grow further as one of the most progressive indie labels.
The latest offering is shaped up with a creamy canvas base with sandy overlays sheathed over the mudguard, toe box, eyestays, and heel counter. Distanced eyelets offer a snug lace-up over a spongey foam tongue provided with punctures for more ventilation. The ankle collar follows the same material construction to further the work-in-progress aesthetic. Branding elements are found on the enlarged tongue tabs showcasing the Why Not Zer0.5 logo on one side and the Jumpman on the other, while “HONOR THE GIFT” is written over the heel clip atop the brand’s flag motif. Extracting elements from the One Take lineup and current sneaker series, the dual-purpose shoe features a sawtooth midsole with a textured gum-like rubber outsole.
Further news on Westbrook’s Jordan Why Not Zer0.5 “Honor The Gift” is yet to be announced with sources anticipating a release in early 2022.
