Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has made his rap debut with a guest feature on Tech N9ne‘s new single “Face Off.”

The song comes off of Tech N9ne’s new album, ASIN9NE, which was released today via Strange Music. As one of the most famous actors on the planet, Johnson has been offered the opportunity to feature on songs before, but this is the first time he’s actually taken an artist up on it.

“A lot of my friends who are hip hop artists — like big names — I’ve been asked a few times,” Johnson told Variety. “But it just has to feel right.”

Johnson had been sharing Tech N9ne’s music on social media for years, according to the publication. The two had first met on the set of the NFL comedy Ballers.

“When Tech texted me, I knew I would make this work,” Johnson said to Variety.

Alongside Johnson, Joey Cool and King Iso also make guest appearances on the track.

As for Johnson’s rap career moving forward, the actor told the publication that he would be willing to team up with Tech N9ne again and would even work with performers in an array of genres — “hip hop artists, blues artists, outlaw country artists” — if the collaboration “feels real and authentic.”
