Celebrating ‘Whole Lotta Red’ securing the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart.
With Whole Lotta Red securing the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, Playboi Carti delivered a performance for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Filmed remotely due to the new show format brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Playboi offered a live rendition of “Slay3r” that pays serve as a tribute to California thrash metal band, Slayer.
Decked in Rick Owens, the Atlanta artist and his crew took to what appears to be an abandoned warehouse for a minimal yet aesthetic performance. Playboi goes through the infectious track as friends Mitch Modes, Shane Gonzales, Erik Arteaga and Phoenix Guerrero provide visual back up surrounded by flashing lights and raging fire. Aside from his signature vocal changes, Playboi Carti also offers an array of ad-libs as he has fun with his monumental performance.
