Vans Vault Creates Trypophobia-Triggering SK8-Hi Cage VLT LX
The rubberized shoe cage features over a dozen holes showing you snippets of the classic pattern underneath.
Ever wanted your pair of Vans Vault SK8-Hi LX sneakers to look like Emmental cheese? Look no further (unless you suffer from trypophobia, that is), as the So-Cal footwear giant has covered the aforementioned pair in a black cage featuring more than a dozen circular cut-outs.
What was a simple pair of SK8-Hi sneakers finished in the classic black and white checkered print with a white sidewall have now been given a polka dot makeover. Through the distressing holes, you can see the underlying pattern as well as structural elements such as the tongue and heel tabs, the suede and canvas mix of materials, and finishing touches such as the white leather Jazz stripe.
Not to confuse these with other hole-covered shoes, Vans has added its signature red license plate tab on the heel of the outer cage, while white laces threaded through eyelets on the cage round out the pair.
