Rick Owens and Converse Reveal Square-Toed TURBODRK Chuck 70

Legendary designer Rick Owens has released a surprise collaboration with Converse, reworking the Chuck 70 through his DRKSHDW line. The collaboration continues Owens’ relationship with Converse, with the designer previously referencing the label’s footwear through his own releases such as Spring/Summer 2014’s DRKSHDW Ramones High-Top sneaker.
The Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 is the first time that the silhouette has been given a square-toe construction, with other details including an extended tongue. The collaboration comes in a classic black and white colorway with Converse and DRKSHDW branding appearing on the tongue.
Launching the collaboration — which will include more sneakers over the course of 2021 — Owens said, “When I see something ubiquitous, I feel like I want to distort it. I don’t know what that’s about. Maybe it’s some kind of adolescent rage. But that’s one of the greatest appeals of the Chuck Taylor All Star.”
Expect the Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBODRK Chuck 70 to arrive on Converse’s dedicated website in the near future in a unisex run priced between $165 USD and $170 USD. A white colorway will see later release. FYI, GOAT has pairs that you can buy right now so be sure to check their site.
