Shortly after introducing its progressive Waffle Racer Crater model, Nike is now readying a classic sporty take on the sustainability focussed sneaker. Made with at least 20 percent recycled material, the shoe is defined by multiple displays of exposed stitching and a multicolor speckled sole unit.

Coming in “Smoke Grey/Gym Red,” the upper of the shoe is a light grey textile upper accented by canvas and suede overlays. The large red Swooshes on the side are framed by contrasting black stitching, while red stitching appears on the white lacing frames. Other branding elements come in the form of tongue tags, printed insoles and “NIKE” printed at the heels. Reimagining the track-ready sole unit, both the midsole and outsole are crafted with Nike’s Grind rubber that helps eliminate waste and close the loop on Nike’s product lifecycle. The sustainable material is made of pre-consumer manufacturing scraps, recycled post-consumer shoes from the Reuse-A-Shoe program and unsellable footwear.

Priced at $100 USD, the Nike Waffle Racer Crater “Smoke Grey/Gym Red” is set to release in the coming weeks.
