Autmnal Tones and Supple Suedes Are Front and Center on the Nike Dunk High "Dark Russet"
The luxurious style is set to roll out in Asia this month, then arrive at US retailers later in the year.
Thanks to the extra real estate provided by its heightened collar, Nike‘s ever-popular Dunk High has long been an apt silhouette for material and color experimentation, and the latest iteration to remix its classic look is a new “Dark Russet.” With an autumnal color palette and an upper made entirely of suede, the “Dark Russet” combines Nike Sportswear and Nike SB flair for a hybrid Dunk look that’s simultaneously fresh and familiar.
The “Dark Russet” begins its appealing mix of hues with an eponymous brown shade on the quarter panels, toeboxes and collars alike. Brown is also used on the throat, but there the rest of the build’s suede is swapped out for a classic nylon. Atop this stately base sits shaggy “Dark Curry” suede on the mudguard, heel, collar flaps and eyestays. Much like the aforementioned tongue swaps out suede for nylon while retaining the “Dark Russet” hue of its counterparts, the “Dark Curry” eyestays do the same by opting for a shorter-haired suede.
This assemblage of brown and curry is completed by large auburn suede Swooshes and a classic white/orange Nike Sportswear tongue tag. Down below, the look goes from earthy to airy as it’s rounded off by white midsoles and sail outsoles.
Interested parties will be able to purchase the Nike Dunk High “Dark Russet” at Japanese retailers like atmos come January 28. A global rollout will likely follow in the spring.
